Manuscript assessments
Getting a professional review or assessment can be an important stage of your manuscript development. Whether your manuscript is fiction or non-fiction, a professional assessment by Bothersome Words will give you the honest feedback that you are unlikely to get from friends and family who may be lovingly biased or don’t want to hurt your feelings. Our assessments provide you with a detailed report that will help you take your manuscript to the next stage.
We will read and analyse your document or manuscript for coherence and style, appropriateness and accessibility. We will provide you with comments to help you improve your work — for example, suggestions for tightening up plot lines, strengthening characters, improving dialogue and so on. In the case of non-fiction, our assessment will look at argument, logic and structure, research quality and so on.
Although a review will note any issues related to spelling and syntax, it is separate to the editing and proofreading stage and will not include these services unless requested.
